Virac Gateway

The Puraran, Catanduanes zone starts at Virac Airport (VRC). This is the logistics page for the connection: where to sleep, where to eat, who rents vehicles, and how the road reaches Puraran.

Researched

This gateway page is a first, light version. Every listing is a real local business found on paper and not yet verified in person; prices, hours and details are strong starting points, not gospel.

Logistics

Getting There

Virac Airport (VRC) is the gateway for the Puraran, Catanduanes zone. Catanduanes is an island with no bridge to the mainland. International travelers usually land in Manila first (see the Manila Gateway) and connect on. The zone page says Cebu Pacific operates the only direct Manila to Virac route, about 1 hour 15 minutes, roughly 7 flights a week (reported).

Entry rules are the same for the whole Philippines and are handled at your first international arrival, usually Manila. Register for eTravel at etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours before arrival, carry a passport valid for six months beyond your stay and a return or onward ticket, and expect 30 days visa-free on a US or EU passport. The full rules, fees and official links are on the Getting Into the Philippines section.

Logistics

Getting Out of the Airport

  • Last leg: a tricycle is about PHP 35-50 shared or about PHP 150 charter for the final 20 minutes, or take a habal-habal (reported).
  • Charter: a chartered tricycle for the whole Virac to Puraran run costs roughly PHP 1,500-2,500 round trip (reported).
