Faro Gateway
The Algarve zone's own airport is Faro, even though the zone map does not show it: the airport sits east of Lagos and has only seasonal direct US service. Getting There
Faro (FAO) is the regional Algarve airport for the Algarve zone, roughly 57 minutes to Lagos, 1 hour 13 minutes to Aljezur and 1 hour 24 minutes to Sagres, but its direct US service is thin: only a seasonal United nonstop from Newark, four times a week, roughly May through September (reported on the zone page). Outside that window, or for other US departure cities, Lisbon remains the stronger recommendation, with strong year-round direct service from multiple carriers and then about a 3-hour drive or a direct Rede Expressos coach of about 3.5 hours south to Lagos.
